It is a factory that operates for a few months of the year. It is a museum because it offers a historical testimonial path. The history and processing of the eel are for the lagoon city one of the hallmarks, for this reason with the recovery of the grandiose complex of the marinade factory, nestled in the historic center of Comacchio, was born, or rather reborn, the factory of the Fish. The eels, caught in the brackish valleys surrounding the city, have been processed and preserved for centuries according to a marinade process that has remained unchanged over time. In the past this activity was carried out by a myriad of families who, on behalf of the Valli Company, provided for the marinade. In the early decades of the 20th, processing was also part of the company's prerogatives, along with fish farming, supervision, internal administration and the marketing of the catch. An activity that has lasted consecutively for more than sixty years involving, during the period of the work, a large number of workers.
