Montenegro:Rural household-Mirna luka Glavaca

Glavaca village is a picturesque place rich in colors and sounds of nature. It is located at 1600m above sea level on the eastern slopes of Mount Bjelasica. Hidden in the valley of this village by the stream is the farmhouse “Mirna luka”. From here, within a few hours’ walk you reach the most famous Bjelasica lakes, and the hosts gladly accept the role of guide. A lot can be learned from the hosts – they will show you how to live in harmony with nature, where they grow plants, how to harvest and use the forest fruits and food that nature has given us. Family tradition is the harvesting of wild fruits and wild medicinal herbs. The Bozovic family distinguishes and recognizes over 100 different types of teas that they collect, dry and pack in the traditional way. They know the forest paths that will guide you through the true treasure trove of herbs. You will be able to drink fresh spring water every step of the way. The Biogradska Gora National Park is a short walk away. There are numerous lakes, hiking trails, biking trails and easy walking routes. In addition to teas, the family also collects berries: strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, apples, pears, called, hazelnuts, from which they prepare delicious juices, jams, and sweet. In the courtyard they have an orchard where they grow aronia, apples, pears, cherries and plums, as a field where all the vegetables are planted.
