They are among the largest freshwater wetlands in northern Italy, recognized in 1976 under the Ramsar Convention and Sixth Station of the Delta Del Po Emilia-Romagna Park: a territory of 1600 has that includes the coffers of Expansion Campotto-Bassarone and Vallesanta and the igrophilic forest of the Traversante.La wetland of Campotto-Bassarone and the forest of the Traversante are accessible exclusively with guided tour, walking, bike, electric boat and golf car. The wetland of Vallesanta, a short distance from the Museum of the Valleys, is the freely accessible area with cycle-pedestrian paths (6 km) on turf until you reach an observation tower that allows a stunning view from above both of the case of expansion than the wet lawn and the species that frequent these environments.
