  • The Circus of the Beautiful Cave of Jezerca, along with the Great Bun Lake are IUCN Category 3 nature monuments. Raised about 2000 meters above sea level, these monuments are in themselves a true wonder of nature and also offer a stunning panorama of the Albanian Alps. The 1.5 km circus is about 1800 m above sea level and represents a glacio-karst pit. Pits, such as the Great Bun, have been named from the peak of Jezerca (2,694 m) the highest of the Albanian Alps and the Dinaric Alps, second in Albania and seventh in the Balkans. Around the Beautiful Cave of Jezerca there are a series of glacial lakes. The largest of these is the Great Bun Lake of Jezerca, covering an area of about 20 km2, followed by the Great Lake, Lohaj Lake, Kolaj Lake, Lulash Lake, and Mjelse Lake. At a distance not far from them, in Qafa e Pejes, there is also Peja Lake, with an area of about 10 km2. Because they are at high altitudes and relatively deep in the continent, all lakes freeze in winter, and in summer, some of them dry up almost completely. However, the lakes differ for cold and clean water as well as for diverse living worlds.120
