The Botanical Garden is located at 1018m above sea level. Formed in 1981, it is the only one on the soil of Montenegro with indigenous flora of the continental mountains (Bjelasica, Sinjajevina, Komovi and Durmitor). Today, in the garden, on an area of 646 m2, (and an additional 180 m2 of cultivars) can be seen about 400 ff species, including a considerable number of endemic species, and more than 80% are medicinal species. All plant species are characterized by Latin and partly national names. The garden has a database through which to monitor the morphology and phenophases of individual plants, a library and a collection of photographs. The founder of this unique botanical garden is Daniel Vincek. From him you can hear information about medicinal herbs, rare and protected plant species, forest fruits, mushrooms, organic food, as well as learn many interesting things about the city itself and its history. In his honor, the plant virak, or elf dew, was named Alhhemill vinceki.
