The Kovacevic Family Botanical Garden (Arboretum) in Grahovo is the first protected natural object on the territory of Niksic municipality. This botanical garden is registered in the Central Register of Protected Objects of Nature for Montenegro and has the status of a natural monument. The arboretum was erected by General Vojo Kovacevic on his property, covering an area of ​​9940 m². By bringing plants from all continents, he tried to maintain them in temperate continental climates at an altitude of about 750 m, where Mediterranean influence significantly reduces the temperature extremes of the continental climate. . This botanical garden is a unique horticultural unit with about 127 species of trees, with specific characteristics. Of these, conifers are represented by 62 species and hardwoods by 65. Of the total number of species, 33 are native and 94 sides, which is a special value of the Arboretum. . The spacious and composite consists of three units: alpinetum, courtyard and park. Within the property there is a visitor room as well as a friendly host ready to showcase the beauties of this unique natural setting.
