Located on the left bank of the Volano Po, in the eastern plain of the province of Ferrara, it is one of the oldest centers in the area. His "pieve" is documented at least from 1044 A.D. and in the name of St. Apollinare reveals the origin of the Exarchate of Ravenna. The town enjoyed a particular notoriety starting in 1930 when, at the impulse of Edmund Rossoni, it was completely rebuilt with rationalist architecture, as was then the case for the so-called founding cities, such as Predappio Nuova or some areas of Forlì: for this reason Tresigallo has obtained the name of City of Art, as an example of a newly founded city characterized by architectural and urban modernity. The streets, squares, major infrastructures, sports, educational, health and industrial centers were built, all following an urban and symbolic-formal logic, wanted by the then Minister of Agriculture Edmondo Rossoni, native of Tresigallo , from the revolutionary unionist origins, to curb the exodus to the city. Tresigallo is therefore one of the few remaining examples of a city of refoundation, designed at the table, in which the city makes geometry of social relations. Halfway between Ferrara and the Comacchio Valleys, nestled in the green of the Ferrara plain, Tresigallo takes shape, a utopian and ideal city. Walking in these places is a unique and fascinating experience. The silence that envelops the landscape, interrupted by the cadenced flow of the water of the fountain, projects us into a dimension suspended between geometry and dream.
