In the Evia Region, as in other parts of the country, events are held to "honor" the products produced locally and which contribute to the economic growth of society. During these events, the honored product is offered for free to the visitors under the sound of live traditional music. For example, a very popular event in Evia is the "Sardine Festival" at Holy Apostles in Petries, which takes place in early August. The area smells of roasted sardines on this day. Shrimps, wine and traditional music are also offered. The festival lasts until the morning hours.
