The Delta del Po Regional Park covers 54,000 hectares between the Province of Ferrara and ravenna Province. It is divided into six stations and is operated by the Emilia-Romagna Region through the park authority: Volano-Mesola-Goro (FE), extended to 13,730 ha. It protects important areas such as the Boscone della Mesola, where a rare subspecies of noble deer, the Bertuzzi Valley and the Goro Sack, survives. It also includes Pomposa Abbey, dating back to the 9th century. Comacchio Historical Centre (FE), extended to 6,715 ha. It includes, as the name says, the center of Comacchio.Valli di Comacchio (FE), which with its 15,105 has is the most extensive station. In addition to the valleys proper, it also protects the Comacchio Saline (where the major flamingo nests). Pineta San Vitale and Piallase of Ravenna (RA), extended on 7,336 ha. The most important area is probably Punta Alberete, where very rare species such as mignattaio, the minor marangon and the sledgebed nest. Class pine and Cervia Salt flats (RA), extended to 8,286 ha. It also includes the Basilica of St. Apollinare in Class. Campotto di Argenta (FE), the smallest, extended to 2,481 ha.
