Fishing is certainly one of the most widespread occupations in Dalmatia. Here people say that they live from the sea and for the sea. It is almost impossible to find a family in this area where at least one family member is not a fisherman. Such a life, although it seems pleasant at first, brings a lot of sacrifices with it. It is well known that fishermen go hunting as early as dawn, when the rest of the locals are asleep. They are also often hit by winds, storms and other problems at sea, so they say that fishing is bread with seven crusts. However, at the end of the day, all that is forgotten, when freshly caught fish comes to the table. Every true Dalmatian will say that you can see the difference between caught and bought fish, because this caught fish always has a special and sweeter taste.
