Kolasin extends into the upper and middle reaches of the Tara and Moraca rivers. It is surrounded by mountain ridges and mountain peaks: Sinjajevina, Bjelasica, Komovi and Vučje. The city of Kolasin was founded by the Otomans in 1651 as their fortress from the coast to the north. Kolasin is also referred to by many as an air spa, bearing in mind the extraordinary and very favorable climatic conditions. The Kolasin area is of particular value to the mountains that surround it. The most important local attraction is the Biogradska Gora National Park, located between the mountain peaks of Bjelasica and occupying an area of 4,000 ha, of which about 2,600 ha are under forest and the rest is mountain pastures and meadows. Biogradska Gora is one of the last three rainforests in Europe. In the center of the National Park is Biogradsko jezero, which is a true pearl of the Bjelasica mountain, and belongs to the glacial lakes which are also called "mountain eyes". Kacamak - Although this traditional Montenegrin dish is very specific to the entire northern part of the country, this specialty is thought to have originally originated first in Kolasin, where competitions are being held every year to prepare it. Kachamak is a dish made of potatoes, flour of various cereals, and its specialty is cheese and cream which are added at the end. In the village of Gornje Lipovo there is a household that deals with rural tourism. It is located below Mount Sinajevina, and the center of Kolasin is located 12km from a household that offers many cultural amenities. Bjelasica Ski Center is 22km away and offers many winter attractions. Biogradsko Lake, one of the most famous natural attractions is located 20km from the household. The famous Kolasin cheese is being prepared in this household, which can only be tasted in this area.
