The Baščaršija mosque, ie the Havadža Durak mosque, is located in Baščaršija in Sarajevo. It was built in 1528. The mosque is the endowment of Hodja Durak, after whom it was named. The interior of the mosque is characterized by an excellent solution of daylight and very good acoustics. It was reconstructed after the Second World War.
Built in the center of the then economic center of the Sarajevo Bazaar, it was of great importance for its economic development. Several benefactors, mostly merchants, bequeathed their vase-holding estates (sermons) in this mosque. The mosque was declared a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2006 .
