Zadar snova festival was found in 1997 with a mission to provide an up to date art experience. It emphasizes on modern theatre, dance and music productions, art performances and interventions interdisciplinary working and challenges introduces in fusion of arts and media. The festival present and support independent artists, is producing own productions and collaborate with productions from regional and interregional culture networks. In an 8-day period presents selection of internationally renowned authors. The blend of modern arts and ancient Dalmatian settings gives a full focus on the content of an artistic idea while supporting innovative forms of its expression. All program presentations take place at various venues of the old town area, an aspect where interaction of past and present cultures generates new communication channels between artists and audience. The project is run by the independent culture organization Zadar snova and program is made possible thanks to the support of the City of Zadar, and Zadar Country. Zadar snova festival every year is trying to achieve its main objectives: - to promote intracultural dialogue and networking by providing the structure for production and cooperation, - to contribute to development of regional cultural policy and the identity of urban cultural movements, - to strengthen the capacity of local independent art scene and to encourage individuals, especially the young, involved in cultural initiatives by providing technical and logistic support, - to support artistic creativity by organizing training and workshops in the field of performing arts, - to build up managing skills and provide know – how in the area of cultural management by organizing educational programs, seminars and meetings, - to establish the multimedia culture and information center as a daily meeting point for creators and artists with an open access to new technologies and relevant databases.
