Vaganski Vrh is highest peak of Velebit. It is a large peak with broad summit which has 4 smaller heads of similar height. Vaganski Vrh is mostly grassy with some rock and colonies of dwarf pine, from all but N side which faces Lika region behind Velebit. Vaganski Vrh slopes towards it with few hundred meters high cliffs. On the NW is an impressive natural amphitheater. Vaganski Vrh can be approached from all but continental side. It is possible to approach via 5 different trails from Paklenica hut, in Velika Paklenica, which is the main trailhead. None of these approaches lasts less than 5h from the hut to the peak. Vaganski Vrh can also be accessed from other parts of Velebit.
