The hill known as Mirenski Grad (Miren Castle) is nestled under the Karst Plateau in the immediate vicinity of the Italian border. Reaching 120 m above sea level the hill offers spectacular views of the Friuli Plain, the Dolomites, the Vipava Valley and the Julian Alps. On the top of the hill is placed monastery and the church.
