The Lake Garaš is located in the heart of Šumadija, on the slopes of Bukulja mountain, about ten kilometers from Arandjelovac city on the Arandjelovac-Belanovica-Ljig road at an altitude of about 400 meters. It was built in 1976 by blocking the River of Bukulja and several of its tributaries for the water supply of Arandjelovac and its surroundings.
The surface of the lake varies depending on the water level, but most often it’s around 65 ha. It consists of three branches Milićevići, Lekići and Vrbe, which were named by the submerged hamlets of villages Garaši and Jelovik. It is characterized by steep banks from one and accessible on the other. The bottom is hard (clay) with mild canyons along the former river flows. The greatest depth is over 20 m. The fish world is diverse, with white fish presenting chub, perch, bodhor, croup, and of carp, perch, catfish, amur and pike holds the unofficial national record with the largest specimen of 19.6 kg. Near the lake, there is a swimming pool with a restaurant and sports fields for beach volleyball and football.
