The appearance of the Montenegrin folk costume was reflected by various cultural influences and ethnic differences, so there were several types of men and women costumes. The biggest difference in dress, of course, was between the coastal region and the central region. Costumes were a characteristic of particular places, so by the very appearance of a man you could deduce where he was from. They were used until the 1920s. The Susic family tradition in Bijelo Polje, for the last 50 years, is making of a traditional Montenegrin costume, which was successfully started by Božana Susic and today continues by her daughter Ljilja. In her gallery she creates original Montenegrin folk costumes and souvenirs with ethno motifs.
