- The Shala River estuary is one of the most famous wonders in the Albanian Alps. Geographically, it is located in the village of Lesniqe on the shore of Lake Koman, but for years has fascinated visitors to the deeper estuary beach. After Valbona, Shala is the second largest river of the Albanian Alps. It originates from the springs of Shtraza in Theth, at an altitude of 800 m and after 37 km flows into Koman, in Lesniqi, about 170 m above sea level. The slopes of the mountain create a wide canyon where the Shala passes before it flows into the lake. About 8km before the Koman spill, from the place called Leka Stone to Nanbli, the slope of the Shala riverbed is nearly 0% and its banks covered with thick gravel have created the most extraordinary Alps beach Albanian. The beach is distinguished for its fresh and crystal clear water, but also for the freshness of the air due to the air currents circulating in the mountains. During June-September the beach is frequented by thousands of visitors. Depending on the entry point (north or south), the road to these unique beaches passes through or horns the three largest artificial lakes in Albania: South of Vau i Dejes Lake with an area of 25 km2 and 74 m above sea level, Koman with an area of 34 km2 and 170 m above sea level, as well as Lake Fierza with an area of 73 km2 and about 290 m above sea level.120
