The International Klapa Festival has been traditionally held in Perast for ten years, bringing together klapa groups from Montenegro and the region, competing in klapa singing. Klapa singing is a special kind of musical expression, that is, singing, peculiar to the Southern Adriatic, represented in Dalmatia (Croatia) and Boka Kotorska (Montenegro). Klapa from Montenegro, in traditional folk singing, are joined by klapa from Croatia.
