Museum of Natural History, Istiea

The Istiea Hunting Association, having assembled a large collection of stuffed species (217 species of birds and a sufficient number of mammals, reptiles, amphibians, insects, fish, minerals, shells, etc.), created and produced me, future development, the Museum of Natural History. The Museum is located in an area of 630 m², and is designated as a Scientific Foundation, since it has been created solely for scientific purposes. There are lots of people from all parts of Greece and abroad who visit it. A large number of school trips are still being organized, which are visited for educational purposes. The Museum of Natural History has the largest collection of birds of the Greek fauna and wishes to enrich and develop the collection with other exhibits. The operation of the Museum is an important factor in progress and contributes positively to the upward cultural course of the city of Istiea and the wider region.
