The Kalenić Monastery is the founding of the protégée of Bogdan, his wife Milica and his brother Peter. The church was erected and painted between 1407 and 1413. It was mentioned in Turkish census in 1476/78. and in 1516 as the Prečiste monastery in Levač. The Church of the monastery Kalenić, is dedicated to the Presentation of the Holy Mother of God and is located on the eastern slopes of the Gledić Mountains. There is no written and reliable testament to the earliest history. Since the beginning of the 18th century, when monks from the monastery of Morača come to Kalenic and reconstructed it, the life of the monastic community, which was always determined by the history of the people of Serbia, continues. At the end of 1815, from the Phenec in Srem, the relics of King Stefan Prvovenčani, the holy Simon of the monk, were transferred to the monastery to be returned to Studenica in 1839. During the 19th century, Kalenić was the poster of two Serbian archbishops, Maksim Savić and Joanikije Neskovic. Before the First World War Jeromonah Nikolai Velimirovic lived in it, and during the Second World War, hemorrhages with Chrysostom Vojinovic, the later bishop Vladika Braničevski. The monastery was significantly rebuilt in 1766, and several times later, between 1928 and 1930, it was fundamentally restored. After the Second World War, the conservation works were carried out in two waves - between 1968 and 1970, and during the last decade of the 20th century. The monastery is built in the style of so-called Moravian architecture.
