The most valuable pearl in a series of natural treasures is Perućica, a protected natural reserve and one of the most well-preserved European rainforests. Within this natural reserve as well as in other parts of the park there is a very rich and diverse plant world, a series of enedemic and rare species. In Perućica itself, more than 170 species of trees and shrubs and more than 1000 species of herbaceous plants are registered. In the heart of Perućica is the waterfall Skakavac 75 meters high with a water flow of 9-12 liters per second.
